When God Closes a Door, He opens a Window

Have you seen this logo to the right of this post?
Read below for more information about it.

Well today Zutter Inc. announced its brand new Design Team. A group of 10 wonderfully talented ladies were chosen from all over the world. It has been fun today to look at their blogs and learn more about them.
The pictures of books you see here were my submissions but I was not chosen.
For whatever the reason, God closed that door but He has opened a window.

Most of my hand drawn patterns I give away for FREE during Zutter Club at our LSS and other times. The logo above is the name of the site that will now sell my patterns.
We waited to find out about Design Team because there may have been a no compete clause and we didn't want to violate that.

So, no Design Team this round :( but there is the opportunity to sell my patterns - yeah!
Who knows maybe I will put them all in a book and sell it. I have a year's worth of holiday patterns and ideas. We will see what happens.
Congrats again, Zutter Design Team Winners...........you all ROCK!!!
Huge thanks to my friend Kelly J. for the idea of the wall hanging. There is no limit as to what you can do with acrylic squares and the Bind It All

For Those I Died

For Those Tears I Died
Words and Music by Marsha J. and Russ Stevens© 1972 Communique Music, Inc.

You said you'd come and share all my sorrows
You said you'd be there for all my tomorrows
I came so close to sending you away
But just like you promised, you came here to stayI just had to pray

Chorus
And Jesus said,"Come to the water, stand by my side
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied
I felt every tear drop, when in darkness you cried
And I strove to remind you, It's for those tears I died"

Your goodness so great, I can't understand it
And dear Lord I know now that all this was planned
I know You're here now and always will be
Your love loosened my chains, and in You I'm freeBut Jesus why me?

Chorus
And Jesus said,"Come to the water, stand by my side
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied
I felt every tear drop, when in darkness you cried
And I strove to remind you, It's for those tears I died"

Jesus I give You, my heart and my soul
I know now without God, I'll never be whole
Savior, You opened all the right doors
And I thank You and praise You from earth's humble shores
Take me I'm Yours!

Chorus
And Jesus said,"Come to the water, stand by my side
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied
I felt every tear drop, when in darkness you cried
And I strove to remind you, It's for those tears I died"

CKU Provo Chronicles #3

Wednesday August 6th - it is already rough enough that we lose an hour in Provo, so when we had to be downstairs by 6:15 a.m. that is like 5:15 to my poor body but hey it is to go scrapbook shopping so you have to endure.
This is the lobby at the Marriott We are all getting our name tag along with white bag and agenda. We were on the road by 6:45. We were supposed to be gone 15 minutes earilier and you will soon see this became a pattern. Not necessarily a good pattern but we had a jam packed day.
First stop, RUSTY PICKLE............ They were having a huge warehouse sale. I got to shop there twice. It was a tough task, but hey someone has to do it. We got a great little goodie pack of paper along with a book signed by Lance. He was so wonderful and the whole company just spoiled us rotten. We stayed a bit too long there, so the next stop we were late.
They had 1 whole row of clearance paper. Lots to choose from and wow it was a great price LOL
They had all their new stuff too, so lots to look at and of course buy.

This is the line to the register. As you can tell, we all had things to buy. Rusty Pickle was a great first stop. Dave also dropped by there later that day with Tara and 2 other great ladies he picked up at the airport. He had a grea time shopping there without me. I think we came home with alot of Rusty Pickle stuff - oh well
Guess we are doing our part for the economy.

CKU Provo Chronicles #2

Tuesday August 5th, we woke up later then we had hoped but after spending a good portion of the evening in ER, we did good to get up and out by 9:00 a.m. We wanted to still go on Crazy T's tour. Tracy made arrangements to see 5 different places. What was fascinating is we drove up the state. So we saw more of Utah. Utah is just beautiful. I will share pictures of that too. Our first stop was Bo Bunny. I LOVE BO BUNNY!!!! I have to say, they loved Dave and thought a hubby participating with his wife was way cool. That made Dave's day. We had the opportunity to do a make and take (at that green table) This is their warehouse. We got a tour of the whole place and then they had an area set up with wonderful sales. Got some very fun papers, kits and tools. I LOVE BO BUNNY!!!! They gave us a green tote bag just for coming along with a rub on. They had the coolest rub on tool. I actually ended up with 2, so if you are reading this note make a comment below and on Monday September 16th - I will draw a name for the really cool rub on tool. I guarantee you will love it. CONGRATULATIONS TO ARLENE.........YOU WON THE BO BUNNY RUB ON TOOL. EMAIL ME SO WE CAN DISCUSS HOW TO GET IT TO YOU. CONGRATS!!

We then drove up the state to Tracy's store that is in her basement. It was so cool and had such fun stuff. I didn't have a hard time finding something to buy - LOL
Thanks T for everything - you rocked.
From there we headed to Adorn It / Carolee's Creations. We did a warehouse tour along with seeing how all the designs came to be. The owner started out doing Tole Painting books. She was so sweet. They gave us a box for cards. We didn't buy anything because it was just too crazy and no order to product. It was OK, I spent enough elsewhere.
Next stop was Cosmo Cricket and wow was that fun. They gave us a lacing card kit and then had lots of things on sale to buy. Including their awesome black books. Oh the prices were so good. One more stop in that neck of the woods and that was SEI. We got to see how it all works there. They do fabric dyes, iron ons, rub ons and of course awesome scrapbook stuff We had a great tour and met great people. They gave us a great 2 piece album set and there was actually a store with lots of fun goodies to buy. Found some very cute page kits. I really enjoyed SEI.

We were now an hour from Rusty Pickle and we were off to see Lance and gang. They were in a serious wearhouse and it was tucked away. Once we found it though, we knew where it was from then on. They had some paper on sale for ten cents a sheet and other great buys. They had all their current stuff too along with kits, clothes, chipboard and acrylic. With each purchase we were given a huge package of paper. At least 2 inches thick. There were lots of great finds in that treasure bag. They had their chocolate fountain up and running. Dave really liked that. Rusty Pickle was a great stop.

We left Rusty Pickle and then off to dinner at Spaghetti Factory. Back to the hotel to sort through all the goodies. Check out the bed - we got so much stuff and of course bought more. It was a highlight to do this at our own speed and enjoy the time traveling up and down Utah.

Going to have an early morning tomorrow. Have to be downstairs at 6:15 (which is 5:15 a.m. our time) for the bus tour. First stop Rusty Pickle LOL
A girl's got to do, what a girl's got to do

More later - goodnight

CKU Provo Chronicles #1

Monday August 4th - we are on our way. We rented a Dodge Caravan from Enterprise, had to wait a bit for the rental so had breakfast at McDonalds. We got home, loaded the car and off we were. We were actually on the road at 9:30 p.m. A 7-11 stop for Diet Pepsi and I-80 East to Salt Lake City - then to Provo. So take note, this is the before shot. We do have a tote of Tara's but aside from her luggage and 5 boxes from Maria and Nancy - the return trip will look much different. Oh it is crazy what they give us at CKU. Back seat equipped for a few projects. I made my cards for the Bus Tour Contest and worked on some last minute dorm stuff - we found out 3 days earlier that we were performing. Good thing all the swaps and such were done. My first year that all my swaps were done, packaged and ready to go before we ever left. - Yeah
Marriott in Provo room 220 Can you tell that the car threw up into the room. OH it was scary.

We arrived in Provo about 6:00 their time so before checking in, we stopped in Orem for dinner at Fuddruckers. http://www.fuddruckers.com/ They have really yummy hamburgers. We then found out that we were within moments of Archivers.http://www.archiversonline.com/ Oh that is a fun store. I have always wanted to go to an Archivers and now I have been there twice. We finished up and off to the hotel for the night. So we thought. After going back downstairs to locate the area we were having our paint can swap, we ran into Alison M. She was experiencing altitude sickness so we were called a while later and needed to take her to the ER. Unfortunately we had to leave her there. We got back to the hotel around 1:30 a.m. and she got back at 4:30 a.m. She was able to get a cab. I just couldn't stay up any longer as I had already taken my meds and there was too many seriously sick people there. I didn't want to get sick.
Alison was fine and just got her body to adjust throughout the week.
Off to bed..................Adventures for Tuesday ----------lots of fun
